will there be any time limit for any of the events?
how many people could get into the 2nd round of 2 by 2? or what's the time limit?
Be patient! This information will be avaliable soon. A link to the information is now posted at the top of this thread! As for right now, 70 persons with 10 different nationalities have registered for the competition. Out of the 70, 13 are from Singapore and 34 are from Malaysia!

Hi Anders,
I was just wondering, if you know, are there any cubes that will be on sale at the competition? Also, has anyone thought of selling Haiyan cubes at the competition?
Thanks Harsha

I will not be involved in any cube-selling activities during the competition. If there will be any, Eric will be in charge.

Will this new regulation be followed? 'Art. 9b updated. Megaminx: preferred format for (combined) final now 'average of 5'. [fairness]'

It will be considered if the new regulations take effect before the competition.

So far, the distribution of nationalities of the people who have registered for Singapore Open 2010 is as follows (74 people with ten different nationalities):
Australia: 1 China: 5 India: 3 Indonesia: 8 Korea: 1 Malaysia: 35 Philippines: 2 Singapore: 15 Sweden: 1 Thailand: 3
One may notice that there are more than twice as many Malaysians as Singaporeans.

There exists good live score systems for cube competions. However, they use php, local servers etc. Since I am a noob in such matters, is there anyone here that would like to help me with making a working system for Singapore Open 2010?

Anders, I managed to find some links from Mads Mohr Christensen, the Danish WCA delegate, from this thread: http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11843&page=6He's developed his own system for a live results scoreboard I'm sure you can email him asking to use his system. http://live.speedcubing.dk/faq.action

Yes, I know about Mads' system. However, I am firstly interested in the system used at the World Championships and modified by the Thais so that you can show the results in a nice manner during the competition. I have the software, but some efforts are required by someone who knows what he is doing. Thus my question, is there anyone here that are computer literate and are willing to make the system running?

hi...some problems arose for me regarding the competition next week. i think i might not be able to make it on time to the on-spot registration on the first day, and is it possible to ask someone else to make a registration for me instead that day? (or perhaps, some other ways to overcome this problem) because i am not sure whether i can make it to be before 11:50a.m. Is there any solution for this Thanks if anyone could answer me this.

As long as you are not late for your event. We will take this as a case by case basis. Speak to Anders on the competition day if you come late for your event.
