How about fewest moves challenge?
It is a really interesting event and will cost only one hour

'only'? You seem to think we have a lot of time to spend on events.

It might be possible. Seems like a fun event. I'll check with Anders and Eric and get back to you.

hmm..3 days for 8 categories is more than enough I think.. Huh

at Malaysia Open 09..we had 10 categories in 2 days... 1st day 10am till 7pm..2nd day from 8am+ till around 4pm..average 3 of 5 for each category..all 1 round..except 3x3 have 3 rounds... Smiley

The official competition will last Saturday-Sunday since I have to work on Friday.

I like fewest moves because it is quite different event compared to the other ones. However, the venue will not allow for fewest moves since it will be too crowded. And for blindfolded, the noise level will be inappropriate.

move the fewest move challenge to a quieter room? i'm sure that'll be okay.

No bad schedule, except that blindfolded and fewest moves will not be held due to venue constraints. And 5x5x5 always takes longer time than expected since it takes quite some time to scramble that puzzle.

As a sidenote, there is more discussion in the Malaysian cube forum than in this forum about Singapore Open 2010!

Probably because the cubing scene is dying down here, slowly. A lot of our long time cubers have stopped.

What I do not understand is why no Singaporean cubers go to competitions. There were no Singaporeans at Malaysia Open (well, one http://www.worldcubeassociation.org/results/p.php?i=2009WENJ01) in Kuala Lumpur and no-one is registered for Jakarta Open this weekend. And there has been several comeptitions in Thailand.
