ermm guyz, u noe how can i get parts of 6x6 in sg??
coz i was solvin my modded 6x6 which i spent 3wks on moddin, den on my 20th solve, the internel piece got stuck
den i try to fix it but removin some affected piece and when i fix everything back i den found out tat 1 of the inner middle edge piece is gone....i haf search for it but i cant find it...T_T
sadded.......
its not even possible to get parts anywhere in the world. good luck =P
try asking at international forums? or email verdes....
personally i think verdes is racist...he seems to replace whatever stuff that the westerners lost and for us asians (i heard of another case of a broken core of a black v5), replacement is a difficulty...so you can still try ur luck =P
perhaps tell him u wanted to fix a certain misalignment and you lost that piece...don't mention the modded part..

There is no need to use personal attacks such as "racist". Just like me, Verdes is of Greek origin,
which is a civilisation which has as rich history as China and India. Greece is not a racist country,
but because it has been a country which has been in the middle of so many wars in the past
(and in almost all cases without being helped by other countries, western or not) we have always
been quite cautious. Plus, if you ever go to the Greek islands, you will be amazed by our hospitality.

Back to the topic. MindStrat Puzzles is a company which has Greek, Indian and Chinese people.
In my opinion, it is a perfect mix, as it combines many qualities together. As a company, we work
with Verdes' son, and I can assure you, he is a very nice guy. But lately he is very worried with the copying.
For example, many Europeans have been alarmed by the uncontrollable copying of their products,
and this is why there are new laws which make Europe like a fortress. We all need to understand this.

Finally, regarding the pieces, please email him. I am not sure of the personal experience of
individuals, but I know many cases where Asian puzzlers had received an extra piece replacement.
But if it took you as long as two months to do this, then you cannot expect a compensation.

And maybe we could also discuss about making some sort of part replacement in Singapore.
But I repeat, please refrain from calling names. What we need is to make things better by finding
a solution, and not make them worse.

Nobody's saying Greeks are racist. And you've heard of asians getting parts, but there's definitely (more than) some who haven't too. Might be expensive shipping, but a problem definitely exists for some of us trying to get parts.

Nobody's saying Greeks are racist.

The way the post was made implied many mixed things regarding westerners and Asians,
so I wanted to put things straight. From *your* point of view the post seemed ok,
but from my point of view it did not. This is why I am politely asking to be careful with what we say.
Opinions should not be mixed with personal attacks and then with dividing comments. It is wrong.

I will also put it in another way: Myself, I would never ever make a comment like that.

And you've heard of asians getting parts, but there's definitely (more than) some who haven't too. Might be expensive shipping, but a problem definitely exists for some of us trying to get parts.

So I guess what we need here is to create some sort of small list. For this we will also need the date of purchase.
I could initiate this by talking to Konstantinos and Siva, but we need to get organised. Do you have such a list?

sorry for those comments. I guess I wanted to imply a slight favoritism towards the westerners; but once again, statistically i might be wrong as I have very little qualitative data.

I think the word racist can be used quite loosely nowadays among teenagers...it's almost like a normal word to us...I mingle quite a bit with my indian classmates and we call each other racist people. there's even this half chinese half american classmate of mine who claims that chinese + american = indian Cheesy he's a bit crazy...but I just wanna emphasize that the word "racist" is used very loosely, so I am influenced by that as well.

so once again, sorry if I offended anyone. I will refrain from using such terms from now on.

That is a good start. Will definitely make V cubes more marketable in the region.

I second that. Most teens use words carelessly and loosely.
It doesn't sound so bad in conversations between friends but it is definitely glaring in print.

Moral: watch what you write, not what you say.. Grin

Lastly - manly of you, Rach, to apologise...hats off.

Thanks for the explanations.  Smiley

And it is true that saying something in person is different than typing on the net.
This is mainly because we cannot know if the other person is making a joke,
being serious, being sarcastic etc.

I guess placing the appopriate smiley should do the trick.  Wink

So... back to the list, should we compile one?

Pantazis

Not sure what you mean by "list". Most of our cubes are still in good condition (mine is mint  Grin)

Some thoughts on parts:

From a consumer's perspective:
Good customer service from V if parts are available. Just like for any other products in most markets. Cubers can now cube with greater confidence, knowing that any damaged or lost parts are replaceable.

Possible problems (for retailers/manufacturer):
One may own both knock-offs and original V, and he may be purchasing for the knock-offs rather than for his V. Impose too many conditions for purchase of parts and you risk aggravating your existing customers

My two-cents...  Tongue

Well there is a solution for everything! Wink

In this case, the customer should send in an envelope the broken part to be replaced.
Now, unless the customer has some magic powers, we will know if the piece is from a knock off.

Let me talk with Siva if this can be done within Singapore as a start. Will come back to you in this post.
I have always (and will always) been a puzzle collector and solver, which explains why I want to
resolve this issue.
